An upper level storm system moved across the high plains during the afternoon of Tuesday June 3rd, and then across the mid Missouri River valley Tuesday night. Ahead of the system, warm, moist and unstable air was pulled north as a warm front lifted into eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa by mid afternoon. The combination of the strong vertical wind shear near the boundary, and the strong instability created a volatile atmosphere across the area. The first of several rounds of supercell thunder
