Showers and thunderstorms developed during the early afternoon hours across much of the high terrain of central New Mexico. This activity moved slowly west and congealed into a large complex of heavy rainfall within the Rio Grande Valley between Kewa Pueblo, Algodones, and Placitas. Torrential rainfall from storms that moved slowly through Algodones produced flash flooding along a conservancy ditch to the east of town.
