Spring runoff from an above normal snowpack, combined with a period of heavy rainfall, caused the Cache la Poudre River; at the canyon mouth of above Ft Collins and another river gage near Greeley; to rise above flood stage. Five roads were closed near bridges crossing the river including: Fern, 71st, 83rd and 95th Avenues, along with Weld County Road 13.
