Thunderstorms producing torrential downpours were nearly stationary over Calloway County, including the city of Murray, for a couple of hours. Spotters reported rainfall rates up to 2.4 inches per hour. Rainfall totals up to 4 and 5 inches occurred at Murray and Benton, mostly within two hours.
