As a result of the flooding on the 26th and the 29th, Dickenson and Buchanan Counties were added to the existing FEMA disaster declaration 1386. In Buchanan County, 5 single family homes were destroyed, 30 homes and 2 businesses had major damage. In Dickenson County, 20 homes had major damage. July rain totals in Dickenson County included 13.1 inches at Birch Gap along Pine Mountain, 11 inches at Clincho, 10.9 inches at John Flannagan Lake, 10.3 inches at Flat Spur of Hazel Mountain.
