A small area of heavy rain developed across the Upstate during the pre-dawn hours and remained nearly stationary for several hours. By late morning, 4-7 inches had fallen along a narrow axis from eastern Anderson County through southern and central Greenville County. The heaviest rain fell across eastern and southern portions of the Greenville metro area, where some flash flooding developed before the rain tapered off.
