Jul 28, 2014
An unusually strong low pressure system, for late July, descended from the Upper Great Lakes region across central New York. During the evening between July 27th and 28th, thunderstorm clusters formed in an excessively moist airmass ahead of a warm frontal boundary. These storms resulted in periods of torrential rainfall with local totals in excess of 3 inches in some areas.
