A warm front remained nearly stationary from low pressure in South Dakota..southeast into southwest Iowa and northern Missouri. The airmass was quite capped with 700 mb temperatures in the 11 to 14 degree C. range. Thunderstorms fired over northern Iowa by around midnight.
