The combination of the a very unstable atmosphere, the presence of a weak surface trough and the passing of a Mesoscale Convective Vortex (MCV) produced numerous showers and thunderstorms. A line of stationary thunderstorms produced between 3-6 inches of rain across the Tri-county area, which resulted in flash flooding.
