The combination of the a very unstable atmosphere, the presence of a weak surface trough and the passing of a Mesoscale Convective Vortex (MCV) produced numerous showers and thunderstorms. A line of stationary thunderstorms produced between 4-10 inches of rain across Chatham County, which resulted in flash flooding. KSAV observed the wettest June day on record since observations began in 1871.
