Flash Flood — Floyd, KY

Scattered strong thunderstorms brought heavy rain and several instances of flooding to eastern Kentucky during the afternoon and evening hours of September 4th. Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall formed and moved across the area as a mid level wave of low pressure moved across the area and tapped into large amounts of low level moisture that had been in place across the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys.
