This flash flood event was from the remnants of Tropical Storm Grace. Grace's broad and poorly defined center moved inland between Port O'Connor and Freeport on the last day of August. Heavy rains before and after landfall resulted in flash flooding across mainly upper Texas coastal areas. These heavy rains continued into the first two days of September as remnant feeder bands continued to develop and move across portions of Southeast Texas.
