Moist west-northwest flow over the region behind a prolonged stretch of impressively heavy rainfall set the stage for more thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall. Saturated soils along with a slow-moving cluster of thunderstorms around Dunken produced flash flooding along Highway 24. Portions of the highway were destroyed by flood waters.
