Rainfall amounts of 5 to 8 inches in less than three hours caused flash flooding. Hardest hit was the Lansing area where rock slides and mudslides closed Highways 26 and 9, including the Great River Road. Allamakee County was declared a disaster area due to damage resulting from the flash flooding.
