A thunderstorm with torrential rain moved slowly north from Hickman County across Carlisle County. Rainfall rates were estimated close to two inches per hour, with an unofficial report of one inch in 20 minutes. Several roads were barricaded in northern Hickman County, including U.S. Highway 51 north of Clinton. Part of a railroad trestle was washed away onto a city street.
