Excessive rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches in two hours or less caused extensive flash flooding. Law enforcement officials reported several roads were impassable, with water a foot deep in some places. Residents near the La Crosse River in Sparta (Monroe County) were evacuated due to rising flood waters. Near Cassville (Grant County), a bridge over McCartney Branch Creek was damaged by debris in the rain-swollen creek. Flooding also caused structural damage to the foundations of more than 4
