Flooding continued to affect areas along rain-swollen rivers and streams, which had been deluged by excessive rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches. Hardest hit were locations along the La Crosse River near Sparta (Monroe County), where high water caused several roads to remain closed. In addition, hundreds of acres of crops were ruined by soil erosion caused by flood waters.
