Flash Flood — Lea, NM

An active round of severe weather affected southeastern New Mexico during the late afternoon and evening of the 5th. Isolated supercell storms initially tracked across northern Lea County and southern Eddy County. The storms produced large hail and damaging thunderstorm winds. By early evening, a squall line had evolved along the foothills of the Sacramento and Guadalupe Mountains. The line of severe storms propagated east over southeastern New Mexico and absorbed the supercellular convection. S
