The remnant circulation of Hurricane Ivan moved back into the Gulf of Mexico and regenerated into a tropical storm late on September 22nd. The weak tropical storm moved west to northwest and passed south of the southeast Louisiana coast before making landfall late on September 23rd near the Louisiana-Texas border.
