Heavy rain and runoff from snowmelt caused widespread lowland flooding in Erie County during the first half of January. Some of the worst flooding occurred along the Huron River. At Milan, the river was already above the 14 foot flood stage at midnight on the 1st. The river continued in flood through the 14th with crests of 19.74 feet on the 1st and 19.66 feet on the 12th.
