Deep tropical moisture persisted across the state. Weak upper-level waves along with strong afternoon heating combined to produce isolated strong to severe thunderstorms each afternoon and evening. Some of these slow moving thunderstorms produce heavy rain of 3 to 5 inches which caused isolated flash flooding in Atlanta metro counties and in Columbus.
