The season's first strong synoptic weather system moved through the central U.S. on the 13th into the 14th. The storm developed over the southern U.S. and moved from Oklahoma on the 13th into Illinois on the morning of the 14th. The system brought heavy rainfall to the east half of Iowa. Rainfall caused stream rises, but no major flooding occurred.
