A coastal trough along with a favorable upper level pattern resulted in scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms over the Coastal Bend. Showers and thunderstorms trained over the same region over Kleberg County producing very heavy rainfall. Rainfall amounts between 5 and 7 inches occurred over western Kleberg County led to major flooding in the city of Kingsville. Water was 1 to 1 and 1/2 feet deep in some areas of Kingsville.
