A prolonged north-northeasterly gale developed over the Gulf of Maine. Minor coastal flooding occurred in the Camp Ellis area of Saco due to large ocean waves. The tide gage in Portland Harbor measured a tide of 11.5 feet which was short of the 12 foot flood stage.
