A frontal boundary from west to east across central New York State into southern New England moved slowly north and focused thunderstorms that moved slowly across Essex county of New York. Very heavy rainfall accompanied these storms, and the eastern portion of the county sustained the most widespread damage with roads closed and power outages reported.
