A bubble of storm surge from Hurricane Dennis moved north along the west Florida Gulf Coast during the day. The surge peaked at Fort Myers around 3:30 AM EDT, in Pinellas County between 8-9 AM EDT, and at Cedar Key just before noon. The surge into Tampa Bay was one to two hours later than the surge along the coast.
