Cindy, a strong tropical storm, came ashore near Grand Isle, LA, shortly before midnight EST July 6. The lowest sea-level pressure and peak wind gust recorded were 1011.2 mb and 34 knots, respectively, at Destin, FL. Rainfall amounts associated with Cindy ranged from less than a tenth of an inch in the eastern Florida Big Bend to two inches in southeast Alabama.
