Warm spring temperatures resulted in rapid melting of the snowpack which caused flooding along Vallecito Creek and some of its tributaries, such as Grimes Creek in La Plata County. Low lying areas along the creek were flooded. Some residential streets in a subdivision north of Vallecito Reservoir were flooded, with the overflow causing damage to landscaping.
