Flash Flood — Montezuma, CO

Heavy rainfall from a thunderstorm cell that moved north over Sleeping Ute Mountain and then across McElmo Canyon produced flash flooding which heavily damaged a number of bridges, driveways, and irrigation ditches. Damage also was reported to sideroll Irrigation systems. Flood waters 10 to 12 feet deep rushed down some large and normally dry arroyos, and extensive erosion occurred throughout the flooded areas.
