A warm front stretching across the region focused heavy rain over the counties along the south shore of Lake Ontario. Two to four inches fell across Orleans and Monroe counties with over five inches over a portion of Wayne and northern Cayuga counties. The rains inundated roads, buildings and crops. About a half dozen homes were destroyed by the flood waters in Wayne county. Sections of roads were washed away in Wolcott, Irondequoit and Webster, among others.
