A strong coastal storm brought wintry precipitation, heavy rain, and strong winds to much of southern New England. A mix of precipitation brought freezing drizzle, snow, and sleet to northwestern portions of the area while heavy rain was widespread across southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, as well as portions of northern Connecticut.
