A severe thunderstorm north of Santa Rosa Mountain produced heavy rain, localized flash flooding, and damaging wind gusts across the eastern slopes of the Riverside County Mountains and western Coachella Valley. A rain gage at Dead Indian Canyon measured 1.14 inches of rain in 30 minutes and 1.30 inches in 45 minutes.
