Severe flash flooding was caused by rainfall amounts between 4 and 7 inches in 24 hours. A moving vehicle was swept off a road into a field by fast-moving floodwaters. The female driver was able to escape to safety by walking through neck-deep floodwaters. Six families in East Carmi were evacuated from their homes. Numerous roads were closed.
