Heavy rain from late morning to early afternoon caused flash flooding across most of Ste. Genevieve County. Several county roads, some with low water crossings, became impassable. Two people, a 78 year old man and a 66 year old woman, lost their lives when they tried to drive a van across a flooded low water crossing on the Lawrenceton cut-off, a road off Route Y.
