Four to six inches of heavy rain from the remnants of Hurricane Fran caused flooding of streets, basements and low lying areas in several locations, especially in Cleveland, Parma, Strongsville and Olmsted Falls. Monkey Island, at the Cleveland zoo, was inundated, and picnic tables, asphalt and fences were damaged, but no animals were injured. There was up to one foot of water on some streets in Parma.
