Heavy rain during the morning and afternoon hours on the 12th resulted in flash flooding across northwest North Carolina.Heavy rainfall in Watauga County flooded creeks and streams, resulted in 14 roads being closed, damaged some roads, and resulted in some evacuations.In Ashe County, heavy rainfall sent some creeks and streams out of their banks, washed away two low water crossing bridges, closed 23 roads, resulted in $70,000 in damage to roads and damaged a business in West Jefferson.
