Flood — Walworth, WI

Jun 17, 1996

Heavy rains of 1 to 2 inches on top of a saturated ground due to previous rains, resulted in a slow rise of water levels on rivers, streams, and creeks across Walworth county. Roads, homes, golf courses, and other businesses became flooded. Some bridges on golf courses were swept away as the soils washed away. A few roads were closed for a few hours until the water receded. Rural farm land had the usual soil erosion and damaged crops. Sandbagging also took place in some locations.
