Additional heavy rains of 1 to 1.5 inches in a couple hours on top of previous rains of 2 to 3.5 inches and a saturated ground resulted in the Rock river flash flooding just west of Johnson Creek. The fast flowing water partially washed out the earthen support of a bridge under the eastbound lane of I-94. Further west, near the border with Dane county, the soil/gravel subsurface under the west-bound lane of I-94 collapsed. This lane was closed to traffic until the next day.
