Additional rain from a cold front which crossed eastern New York on July 15, caused the Mettawee River in northern Washington County to go above flood stage. The rain fell upon saturated soil due to the passage of Tropical Storm Bertha on July 13. At Granville the river went one foot over flood stage causing minor flooding, mainly to farm lands.
