Persistent thunderstorms resulted in a narrow band of 5 to 6 inch rainfall amounts from near Fulton to Paducah. Around 5.5 inches fell at the Paducah National Weather Service office in about 5 hours. Widespread flash flooding of roads and creeks occurred. A total of 13 roads were closed in McCracken County, including U.S. Highway 45 at a railroad underpass in Paducah.
