Persistent thunderstorms resulted in a narrow band of very heavy rainfall from Fulton, Kentucky to around Paducah. Although rainfall amounts decreased slightly in Massac County, considerable flooding of streets and low-lying areas occurred. The most substantial flooding occurred along low-lying roads in the Unionville Bottoms and Brookport areas. Flooding of the Brookport Elementary School resulted in a day off for students and teachers.
