An intense storm over the mid-Atlantic states pumped excessive rains all the way back to parts of western New York. Rainfall totals of three to four inches...onto already saturated grounds...were common across the Genesee Valley and Western Finger Lakes region. The flash floods closed roads and flooded basements.
