The Ohio River, at the Point in Pittsburgh to Dashields Lock and Dam, went above their 25 foot flood stages in response to heavy thunderstorm rains in the Allegheny and Monongahela River Basins. Only minor flooding occurred. The crest at Pittsburgh was 3.1 feet above flood stage and only 0.6 feet above flood stage at Dashields. This is the first time that the Ohio River at Pittsburgh rose above flood stage in a summer month since the Hurricane Agnes flood of 1972.
