Mar 1, 1997
A violent thunderstorm moved across the county, dumping torrential downpours on ground that was already soaked by heavy rain earlier in the day. Over five inches of rain fell at Paducah for the day. Heavy rains caused part of the roof at Paducah Middle School to cave in. Some homes were flooded. Widespread flooding of streets and highways stranded many motorists.
