Estimated rainfall as high as 12 inches in less than 36 hours over the southeastern part of the county caused many creeks and streams to overflow their banks. The waters rose into several homes causing evacuations to occur. Also, numerous roads were flooded and some bridges were washed out. A man was killed on State Route 763 when he climbed from his car after it became surrounded by water. He was swept away by the swift currents.
