Excessive rainfall and runoff in Thayer, Fillmore and Buffalo counties from thunderstorms led to some extensive flooding. In Thayer County, 3 to 8 inches of rain fell in just a few hours causing flash flooding in the Big Sandy Creek basin. Dozens of bridges and roads in northeast Thayer County were damaged.
