A slow-moving thunderstorm moved across Lake Charles, dumping as much as six inches of rain in less than one hour. Many streets from Interstate 210 south had over a foot of water on them, and some places had as much as three feet of water on them. Police reported dozens of stranded motorists and damage to electrical systems to cars due to water entering the motor compartment.
