Flash Flood — Piute, UT

Aug 9, 1997

Flash flooding was reported in southwest Utah by the Utah Highway Patrol. Early in the afternoon, flooding along the Sevier River closed a portion of US-HWY 89 just north of Hatch. Later flooding occurred in the Marysvale area. Several vehicles were trapped trying to drive through mud and debris on US-HWY 89. A spotter in Duck Creek Village received 2.19" of rain on this date.
