A storm system moved from the Tennessee Valley Wednesday (January 7) and Thursday (January 8) then into New England Friday (January 9). Liquid precipitation amounts across the area was 3 to 6 inches. The Raquette and Oswegatchie Rivers resulted in extensive field flooding and some road flooding before gradually receding over an extended period of time.
