Rapid melting of a recent heavy snowfall in the Uinta mountains resulted in flooding and flash flooding to the south in Ballard. Canals and drainages were unable to carry the volume of water which caused flooding up to a foot deep to about a dozen homes as well as the Ballard city hall. 1 to 2 feet of high-density snow fell in the Uinta mountains in the night prior to the flooding.
